Importance of Art in Society

We all have different mother tongues and may not speak the same language, but we all understand the language of art. Drawings, paintings, documentaries, hoardings, campaigns and posters provide important visual images that enable us to empathize with and better understand their subjects. Humans have been creating art as a tool of expression even before they invented a verbal language. The only possible way to communicate and share ideas back then was symbolic representations; mainly drawing inside the cave walls and hand made sculptures that they either worshiped or kept at homes. Presently we engage with visual art as a passion and profession for building a creative career.

Visual art also provides students with an avenue to exercise their creativity and explore unknown dimensions of their inner self. Students whose talents lie in the fields of fine arts may feel neglected and forced against the wall when made to study a scientifically created syllabus. Artists with huge followings are capable of instigating change on a global scale. This is especially important during periods of social fragility and unrest. The fight against racism, sexism and homophobia has been greatly aided by positive representations of minorities in popular media such as creative poster designs, movies, and animations. When it comes to protests against injustice, art is the most useful and invaluable weapon. Sometimes, more memorable than the protests themselves is the imagery associated with the protests. Though the exact details of protests and activism might fade from our memories, their representation and symbols continue to endure. Artists use the elements of concepts and drawing to air their voices. Creative concepts reach people and they can connect easily with the expression the artist aims to represent. Practicing art helps students to express concern for social and environmental issues and remain aware of the state of the present to create a better world for tomorrow. They learn to work on their imaginative skills, rules of composition, how to create visual balance with color theories, and experiment with a wide range of materials.

Different lessons in art classes help kids to prepare for challenges and boost their self-confidence. They get a space to improvise and learn to picturise their creative concepts. Instructors at DEX-Art encourage them to have freedom with their color implementation and respect the choice of every student. We guide with practical demonstrations and help our budding artists to understand the social and environmental problems and raise their voice against these through their imaginative and creative skills.
