Texture ( Visual Art)

The apparent surface quality of an artwork is referred to as texture in the visual arts. His friendship with Gauguin ended in a confrontation with a razor in which he in a rage cut off part of his own left ear. He spent time in psychiatric hospitals, Saint-Rémy among them. After he discharged himself he moved to the Auberge Ravoux in Auvers-sur-Oise near Paris, where he was cared for by the homoeopathic doctor Paul Gachet. His depression continued and on July 27, 1890, Van Gogh shot himself in the chest with a revolver. He died of his injuries two days later.
